Terms of use
Last updated: 29 October 2026. Changes for suppliers in sections 5 and 6 take effect on 6 November 2026, and in sections 3, 5 and 6A (signing in, contacting customers, taking a place) on 13 November 2026; until then the previous version applies to suppliers.
- Gigs On helps customers get quotes from local businesses. It’s free for customers.
- We introduce you to each other. The work itself is agreed between the customer and the supplier; we aren’t part of that contract and don’t do the work.
- Suppliers pay an introduction fee only when a customer chooses their quote: currently 3% of the quote before VAT, minimum £15, maximum £200, with no VAT. If a job doesn’t go ahead for a reason that isn’t the supplier’s fault, the supplier can ask for a fee credit.
- For jobs posted from 27 October 2026: up to 3 suppliers can take a place on a job. Getting a customer’s contact details costs £20 (your first is free). The supplier then receives the customer’s name, phone and email, and the customer receives the supplier’s details. The introduction fee below applies to jobs posted before then.
- For requests sent from 29 October 2026, up to 3 installers can take your request. Each gets your name, phone, email and address and will contact you to arrange a survey; you get their details too, and there’s no obligation to go ahead with any of them. For earlier requests, contact details were shared only after you chose a quote.

1. About us and these terms
Gigs On (gigson.com) is a trading name of Gigson Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10177105), registered office M.01 Tomorrow, Blue, Mediacityuk, England, M50 2AB. “We”, “us” and “Gigs On” mean Gigson Ltd.
These terms apply when you use Gigs On, whether you’re a customer looking for quotes or a business (“supplier”) receiving quote requests. Our privacy notice explains how we use personal information. You can contact us through our help and support page.
2. What Gigs On does
Customers describe a job using our request form or our assistant, GO. We check the home where we can (for solar, the roof from above and the home’s public energy certificate), find suitable local businesses and check them as described in section 7. Up to 3 of them can take the request: they get the customer’s contact details and arrange a survey, and may send an estimate through Gigs On. (Requests sent before 29 October 2026 work as before: suppliers send quotes and the customer chooses one.)
Gigs On is an introduction service. When a customer and supplier agree to go ahead, the contract for the work is between them. We don’t carry out, supervise or guarantee the work, and we don’t handle payment for it.
3. Accounts and sign-in
- Customers can start without an account. When you send a request we check your email address and mobile number are real; if we can’t confirm them, or the email already has an account, we ask you to confirm with a one-time code. Your request page signs you in from links in our emails.
- Suppliers receive each request through a private link in our email. The link shows the job. To take a customer, see their details, message them or send an estimate, you confirm your work email with a one-time code; that device then stays signed in for 90 days unless you log out. Please don’t forward your links, and log out on shared devices.
- Please give accurate details and keep them up to date. You’re responsible for activity on your account or private links unless it’s our fault.
4. Terms for customers
- How it works for your request. Up to 3 checked local installers can take your request. When one does, we send them your name, phone, email and address so they can contact you, usually within one working day, to arrange a survey, and we send you their details. An installer may also send you an estimate through your request page. You don’t have to go ahead with any of them, and you can close your request at any time.
- It’s free. You don’t pay Gigs On anything to request, receive or compare quotes, or to choose one.
- Describe the job honestly. Suppliers price from what you tell us and any photos you add (suppliers we invite can see them), so please make it accurate. Avoid including personal details in photos, such as house numbers, number plates or people’s faces.
- Quotes are offers from suppliers. We don’t set or guarantee prices. A quote may change if the job turns out to be different from the description.
- Choosing a quote (requests sent before 29 October 2026). When you choose a quote, we ask the supplier to confirm. Once they do, you’ll swap contact details so you can arrange the work. If they don’t confirm in time, you can choose another quote.
- Time to choose (requests sent before 29 October 2026). You can choose a quote until the “choose by” date shown on your request page, and we’ll remind you before then. If you haven’t chosen by that date, your request closes and suppliers are told.
- Just researching? If you tell us you’re just researching, you can save your request for later before any suppliers are asked, and send it when you’re ready.
- Sharing your address. You can choose to let suppliers who say they’ll quote see your address, so they can design and price the job accurately. It’s your choice, and you can stop sharing at any time on your request page (anyone who has already seen it will still have it). On requests sent from 29 October 2026, the installers who take your request (up to 3) receive your address with your contact details. Otherwise, suppliers must not visit, phone or write to you without your agreement; if one does, use “Report an installer” on your request page and we’ll act on it.
- Did it go ahead? After the supplier’s proposed start date we may email you to ask whether the job went ahead, and while your request is open we may send a few reminders about your quotes. Answering is optional, and you can turn reminders off with the link in any of them. It helps keep Gigs On fair for everyone.
- Closing your request. If you decide not to go ahead, you can close your request using the link in our reminder emails. We’ll let the suppliers know; no one will contact you about it.
- Check before work starts. We carry out the checks described in section 7, but you should still check a supplier’s qualifications, registrations (for example Gas Safe for gas work), insurance and references, and get a written agreement for the work.
- Your rights. Your legal rights as a consumer for the work are against the supplier who does it. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
5. Terms for suppliers
- Who we invite. We currently send quote requests only to limited companies and LLPs, at the email address published on their own website. You can stop all requests at any time using “Don’t send me requests” on any request page or the opt-out link in our emails.
- Viewing and quoting is free. You can view requests, message customers and send quotes without charge.
- Your quote. Your quote is your offer to the customer. Make it clear what’s included, when you could start (a proposed start date is required) and how long it’s valid. You can update or withdraw it until the customer chooses.
- Accurate information. Anything you tell us or customers about your business, qualifications, accreditations and insurance must be true and current. Where we show an accreditation we haven’t been able to confirm from an official register, it’s shown as stated by you.
- Doing the work. You’re responsible for the work you agree with the customer: holding the right licences, registrations and insurance, meeting the law (including consumer law), and dealing with the customer fairly.
- Contact through Gigs On. On jobs where you’ve taken the customer (getting their details), contact them directly to arrange a survey, within one working day. On other jobs, keep contact within Gigs On messages until you’re chosen and the fee is paid, and don’t try to swap contact details another way. We remove contact details from messages before then.
- Customer addresses. Use a customer’s address only to assess, design and price their job. On jobs where you’ve taken the customer, arrange the survey with them directly. Otherwise, don’t visit, phone, write to or otherwise contact the customer without their agreement; arrange any survey through Gigs On messages. Doing so is a serious breach of these terms (see section 9).
- Prices go in your quote. Send prices using the quote form on your request page. A price in a message isn’t a quote: the customer can’t compare it or choose it. If your price changes, update your quote.
- Answering requests. Please say whether you’ll quote by the time shown on your request page. If you don’t, we may pass the request to another supplier.
6. The introduction fee and fee credits
- When it’s charged. Only when a customer chooses your quote. There’s nothing to pay otherwise.
- How much. 3% of your accepted quote for that job, worked out on the price before VAT, with a minimum of £15 and a maximum of £200. If your quote covers more than one job, it’s worked out on the part for this job. The fee is fixed when the customer chooses and shown on your request page before you pay. We aren’t VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- Paying. By card on your request page through Stripe, our payment provider. We never see your card details. You’ll get a receipt by email.
- Deadline. The fee is due within 24 hours of the customer’s choice. If the customer chooses on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, or the 24 hours would end on a bank holiday, it’s due by midday (UK time) on the next working day. The exact deadline is on your request page and in our email. If it isn’t paid in time, the customer’s choice is released and they may choose another supplier.
- What it pays for. The introduction: once paid, you receive the customer’s contact details and job address, and they receive yours. Whether the job then goes ahead is between you and the customer. If it doesn’t, for one of the reasons below, you can ask for a fee credit.
- Refunds. If your payment goes through after the customer’s choice has been released, or if the fee has already been paid another way, we refund it in full automatically. Otherwise the fee isn’t refunded in cash once contact details have been shared, but you may be able to get a fee credit (below).
- Fee credits. If a job doesn’t go ahead, tell us using “Didn’t go ahead” on your request page or business dashboard. We may also ask the customer. We give a credit for the fee you paid for that job when:
- the customer changed their mind;
- the job needs other work doing first (for example a roof that needs replacing before solar panels can go on);
- the survey showed the job isn’t suitable (for example the roof can’t take panels);
- the customer went with another installer after your visit; or
- you couldn’t reach the customer because their contact details were wrong, or the job was a duplicate.
- Time limit for credits. Ask within 14 days of paying the fee, or within 14 days of our latest “Did the job go ahead?” email to the customer, whichever is later.
- How credits are decided. We look at every request and decide fairly on what you and the customer tell us, and email you the outcome. We may stop giving credits to a business that asks for them unusually often.
- Using credits. A credit isn’t cash and can’t be exchanged for cash. It comes off your next introduction fee automatically, and anything left over carries on to the fee after that. If a customer’s choice that used your credit is released because the fee wasn’t paid in time, the credit goes back to your balance. Credits don’t expire, and you don’t need an account: a credit belongs to your business and comes off the fee shown on your next job page.
- Changes to the fee. We may change the fee for future introductions with notice under section 12. A change never affects a fee already shown to you.
6A. The estimate fee (jobs posted from 27 October 2026)
For jobs posted from 27 October 2026, this section applies instead of section 6.
- Places. Up to 3 suppliers can take a place on a job by getting the customer’s details. You confirm your work email first (a one-time code); your first customer is free, then the price shown on the job. With a place you see the job address, can message the customer and receive their contact details. Viewing and messaging before you take a place are free.
- When it’s charged. When you take a place and get the customer’s details: £20, paid by card through Stripe. Your first one is free. Your place is held for 30 minutes while you pay. We aren’t VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- What it pays for. You receive the customer’s name, phone and email straight away, and they receive your details. You must contact them within one working day. Sending an estimate through Gigs On is then optional and free. There’s no further fee if the customer chooses you. An estimate can’t be changed or withdrawn once sent.
- Credits. You get a free replacement (a credit for your next customer) when you tell us, using “Problem with this lead?”, within 7 days of getting a customer’s details that the lead was bad. No reason is needed for up to 1 in 5 of your customers in any 90 days; above that we check each one. You also get a credit when the customer tells us they’re not going ahead with anyone (we ask them 14 days after the first supplier gets their details).
- Not covered. The customer chose another supplier, or the price changed after your survey.
- Using credits. A credit isn’t cash and can’t be exchanged for cash, except that if you close your account we refund credits for customers you paid for. It’s used automatically on your next customer and doesn’t expire.
- Changes. We may change the estimate fee for future estimates with notice under section 12. A change never affects an estimate you’ve already sent.
7. How suppliers are found and shown
For each job we search public business listings near the customer’s postcode for businesses that do that type of work, then check each one. The main things that decide whether a business is invited, and in what order, are:
- how closely the business matches the job, based on its listing and its own website;
- distance from the job;
- whether we can match it to an active company at Companies House;
- for some work, whether it appears on an official register (for example MCS for solar and batteries);
- its public reviews and ratings; and
- whether it has already been checked and approved for similar jobs on Gigs On.
Suppliers can’t pay to be invited or shown higher. Customers see quotes with the supplier’s details, distance and, where available, ratings; they decide which to choose.
8. Using Gigs On properly
Please don’t: give false information; use Gigs On to send spam, abuse or anything unlawful; try to get around the introduction fee; copy or scrape the site; or interfere with its security or other people’s use of it. Messages may be checked automatically to remove contact details and keep everyone safe.
9. Suspending or removing access
We may stop sending requests to a supplier, or suspend or remove a supplier or customer, if they break these terms, give false information, receive repeated well-founded complaints, or if we need to for legal or safety reasons. For suppliers, we’ll give our reasons and, where we end the relationship altogether, at least 30 days’ notice, unless the law requires us to act sooner or there’s been a serious or repeated breach. You can ask us to review a decision through our complaints process (section 11).
10. Our responsibility to you
- We’ll provide Gigs On with reasonable care and skill, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free.
- We aren’t responsible for the work suppliers do, their quotes, or what customers and suppliers agree between them, except where the problem was caused by our own failure to do what we’ve said in these terms.
- Customers: we’re responsible for loss you suffer that’s a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We aren’t responsible for business losses, as Gigs On is for personal use by customers.
- Suppliers: our total liability to a business in any 12 months is limited to the introduction fees it paid us in that period, and we aren’t liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
11. Complaints
If something’s gone wrong, tell us through the support page, choosing the topic that fits. We’ll acknowledge it, look into it and reply, usually within 5 working days, and tell you the outcome and our reasons. Complaints about a supplier’s work should first go to the supplier; tell us too, as it helps us decide who to invite in future.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We’ll show the date at the top. For suppliers, we’ll give at least 15 days’ notice by email before changes take effect, unless the law requires otherwise; you can stop using Gigs On before then. Changes never apply to a fee already shown to you.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you’re a customer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
